Scout Build Tips

If you're looking for more information on how to complete your full keyboard with the Scout case, you've come to the right place!

MODEL 1 - TYPERACTIVE CHOC SPACED

If you are getting the typeractive choc-spaced kit, the build is pretty straightforward. This model is made specifically for typeractive's wireless corne build, which is choc spaced and uses choc v1 switches and caps only.

Go to https://typeractive.xyz/pages/build/corne_choc to build the partially assembled kit.
    • If you haven't built a corne before, follow these guidelines for the Typeractive kit builder:
      • Case: None
      • Headers: Must choose an option. Choose No-Solder if you cannot solder, but otherwise choose one of the other options, as they are cheaper and more stable.
      • Microcontroller: Must include nice!nanos
      • All other choices are up to you. The rest of the keyboard, like the switches and keycaps, you can source from the same link or anywhere else. You must use Choc V1 switches and choc keycaps.

    MODEL 2 - MX SPACED

The MX spaced version is essentially a "Normal" corne case, compatible with all Corne v3 style Corne PCBs that you may already have. This includes keyboards that are wired or wireless, and includes keyboards using either choc v1, choc v2, or GLP switches.

    Some notes:

    • All of the MX-spaced model prototype photos (non renders) were the Beekeeb GLP wireless corne model.
    • Actual MX switches work too if you want to do that, but you would need longer standoffs
