The Scout is a low profile keyboard case for the Corne keyboard. After running my other group buy this past year for the Chieftain, which was designed to be a very hefty, robust and elegant case, I wanted to design something slightly more sleek and travel friendly, especially with a focus on wireless use, while also including of a compartment for larger batteries.
Features:
- Battery compartment for 750mah battery
- Compatible with most corne PCBs (MX and choc) and may be compatible with typeractive choc spaced
- Threaded holes & nylon hardware for optional tenting
Specs:
- Mount: O-Ring Sandwich Mount See chieftain build guide for more details
- Tenting angle: 2.5 degree (base)
- Case Material: Polycarbonate and/or 6061 Anodized Aluminum
- Plate Material: Polycarbonate and/or 5052 Anodized Aluminum
- Case Height: 11.7mm to 17.8mm from thin to thick end
- Price: TBD, ≈ $200

Prototype
I've been daily driving my prototype for about a year. It takes up very little space in my backpack, so I've been comfortably taking it around campus. The threaded legs are stable and quick to install. (Ignore the red, that was a temporary 3D printed plate, but I've been daily driving the aluminum plates)
